- 1.5 cup basmati rice
- 2.5 cups boiling water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon Saffron powder or saffron threads ( if you use saffron threads you need to Grind it with a pestle to a powdery consistency)
- 1 teaspoon Vegetable Bouillon Powder Soup Mix.
- Salt to taste
Let's do it!
Boil the water.
Wash and drain the basmati rice.
In a pot over medium-high heat place the olive oil.
Add the washed rice and stir.
In a cup place, the saffron powder, Vegetable Bouillon Powder Soup Mix and salt add one cup of boiling water, stir and place it to the pot.
Add the rest of the boiling water to the pot (total 2.5 cups of boiling water).
Stir and cover the pot.
Lower the heat to low -medium heat and cook for 20 minutes.
Uncover it and place a clean kitchen towel on the pot, let it rest for 5 minutes and fluff the rice with a fork.
